I didn’t get as much in this week as I wanted but all in all in was a productive week. I started my strength training with some resistance bands & I began using a stationary hand bike to get some cardio in. One thing that I am working on too is not letting people push my wheelchair as much. We went to a Braves game yesterday and I rolled up and down the hills on my own. I think the little work that I had put in already helped. It also helps me feel more independent.

Drew and I were going to go cycling this evening with a local adaptive sports group but the weather decided not to cooperate. So on the agenda for this week is more strength training and using the resistance bands to work on my core muscles. I am also going to an adaptive kayaking class tomorrow night. I am really excited & nervous at the same time. Kayaking is something I always wanted to do but never thought I could. I will let you know next Monday how it went & share some photos with you.

    Resistance bands are good (and effective). Also, I love kayaking. I went down class 1-2 rapids last year and loved it. It was awesome to float down a river and be surrounded by nature.

    You should definitely go for it. Your resistance and core training would serve you well for kayaking. My arms were very tired after my kayak trip.
