Welcome to this month’s Blogorail Green Loop. Today we are sharing some of the best breakfast spots at Disney. Brunch at the Top at Disney’s California Grill is one of the most relaxing and delicious options at Walt Disney World.
We were looking for something special to do for our anniversary during our vacation. Since we were staying at the Contemporary Resort, Bruch at the Top seemed like the perfect option. And it was! Here is some of the basic info.
Once you reach the restaurant you stop to grab your mimosa or a sparkling, non-alcoholic beverage before heading to your table. When we visited it was cranberry flavored. If you need another your server will bring them to your table. When you get to your seat your server will ask if you want anything else. If you are a coffee fan you definitely need to get the press pot coffee.
There is also a Bloody Mary bar for an additional cost. Neither of us are fans of the drink but people were making some pretty cool creations. You can pick the vodka, hot sauce, and garnishments.
On to the food! To start you’ll get Assortment de Patisserie, assorted breads and pastries that includes croissants, pecan sticky bun, country cheddar biscuit, and huckleberry muffin. Everything was great but the cheddar biscuit was a stand out. Next you can head over to the buffet which has a great mix of options. There is assorted sushi, which was our favorite. California Rolls with Jumbo Lump Crabmeat, Spicy Tuna Tekka Maki Rolls, and Salmon, Tuna, and Himachi Nigiri Selections.
The House-made Charcuterie includes Orange-Honey Ham, Bison and Sweetbread Terrine, Pork Belly Rillettes, Whole-Grain Mustard, Zellwood Pickles, Pickled Pero Farms Peppers, and Sweet Onion Jam.
There is a nice Hardwood-smoked Salmon with Capers, Egg, and Red Onion, bagels, and assorted fresh fruit.
The Greek Yogurt bar lets you put together your favorite mix with items like Vanilla-scented Granola, Mixed Berries, and Honeycomb.
Baby Iceberg Wedge Salad, Kale and Apple Salad, and Fregola Salad with with crispy Sautéed Vegetables, Lemon Vinaigrette, Florida Hearts of Palm. All of them looked delicious but the kale and apple salad was a stand out. You’ll also find Deviled Eggs and Shrimp Tempura.
After you’ve tried everything at the buffet, let your server know that you are ready entrée. You’ll order them soon after you sit down but they don’t bring them out until you are ready. It takes 20 minutes for them to be prepared so you have time to grab something else from the buffet or just enjoy the atmosphere.
Andrew had the Shrimp and Grits with Gulf White Shrimp with Tillamook Cheddar Grits, spicy Tomato Broth, and Espellette-spiced Tomato Ragoût. Everything was prepared perfectly and he was really happy with it.
I tried the pumpkin pancakes. It’s a seasonal item and I couldn’t resist. They photo doesn’t do them justice. The spice was perfect and they were light and fluffy. And the butter, the butter was probably the highlight of the entire meal. 🙂
To end the meal your server will drop off a dessert platter when your ready. Ours included macaroons, cookies, truffles, and a maple bark. Pretty and delicious!
We really enjoyed the meal. The service was excellent and of course the food was amazing. It was a nice way to celebrate and take a break from the parks.
