Pretzels and People Watching

April 30, 2013

No matter how much you love Walt Disney World sometimes you just need to stop and take a break. For us a break usually involves food and a nice spot to sit, relax, and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the parks. When we are in Hollywood Studios one of our favorite places to stop is the Streets of America and the Pretzel Garden.

Pretzel Garden

The menu is pretty basic but if all you are looking for is a quick snack it’s the perfect spot. (The Writer’s Stop is also close by if you are looking for something sweeter.)

I love the Mickey shaped pretzels but they also offer the much loved cream cheese pretzels. You can get cheese sauce for a $1.00 more but I usually just opt for the mustard.

One of Drew’s favorite snacks is the churros. You can also get a Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar or a frozen banana on those warm (hot!) summer days.

After you select your favorite snack the next decision is where to enjoy it. There are a lot of great spots along the Streets of America to take a break. Benches line New York Street or you can grab a spot on the curb. Either way it’s a perfect spot to watch the crowd.

Streets of America

We usually head over to San Francisco Street. It’s a little more out of the way and there is a staircase that sits back from the main sidewalk that offers some shade. Or if you time it right you can catch a performance from Mulch, Sweat, & Shears.

No matter where your perfect spot is I promise you’ll enjoy yourself if you spend some time on the Streets of America. Sure there isn’t a major attraction but sometimes it’s nice to just enjoy the details. And a pretzel.

I love the Mickey pretzels and don’t remember seeing this place on either of our trips. Will have to look for it in September if we go!
