New Coffee Options Coming to Disney

February 7, 2013

Press Pot Coffee at The Wave

I typically don’t write too much about Disney news but I am really excited about the announcement yesterday that Joffrey’s will be replacing Nescafe as the standard coffee at Disney Parks and Resort. It’s not that I am a Nescafe hater, to be honest I’ve never tried it, but coffee is something I do love and knowing there will be more available at Disney makes me happy. Why? Because folks I have a confession to make, I am a coffee addict.

My love for coffee is pretty new. I used to hate the stuff. Really. Now I don’t know how I would get through the day without it. At our house we now have our regular coffee pot, a French press, an espresso machine, and a Keurig. Yes, it may be a little on the crazy side but you’ve never been around me in the mornings. It’s not pretty.

Coffee makes me happy.

So while I love my Disney vacations the coffee situation was becoming a problem. Partly because it was sometimes difficult to track down depending on where we were staying and partly because I fully admit to being a coffee snob this days. And Drew is worse than I am so I am guessing we may be fairly obnoxious.

We had gotten to the point where we were planning our mornings around where we would be getting our coffee. We would either plan a breakfast at a table service location with pressed coffee on the menu like Kona Cafe, The Wave, or Kouzzina. Or we would make a plan to visit certain kiosks in the park like Royal Anandapur Tea Company in the Animal Kingdom (love their tea too) or the coffee cart near Ellen’s Energy Adventure in Future World. (Allears has a great list if you are a coffee addict traveling before the changes take place.)

The announcement that Starbucks was coming to the parks helped a little, at least we could find coffee easily on Main Street and in Future World. But now I know that I can find the real deal at my resort and quick service locations. Touring Plans is reporting that Joffrey’s will also be providing special blends that will be exclusive to Disney and they will be available for purchase. I can’t wait to try them out and then bring my favorites home. I have a feeling that having coffee that reminds me of Disney is not going to help my addiction.

What do you think of the changes? Will you miss Nescafe?

I’m very excited about all the coffee options coming. I’m a big coffee drinker and can’t wait to try the Joffrey’s. Kona has great coffee too 🙂

Awesome! I love Joffrey’s Coffee! Nescafe is nasty.

How to describe Nescafe? Melt a hard “coffee candy” from the 70s in a cup of water. Shudder.

Oh gosh I hope it is good coffee or even decent because Nescafe is by far the worst coffee ever—it is instant and not real. I look everywhere while I am down there to get good coffee and do not drink it at the resort.

Oh, this sounds like a nice change! I kinda NEED my coffee too. 😉
