We are getting close to our trip to Disneyland and I’ve already started packing. (It’s never to early right?) One of the places I started was my carry on bag. We are able to drive to Walt Disney World so this is a whole new level of packing and planning for me. So here are a few of the things that are going into my Disney trip carry on bag.

First up, the bag itself. Since getting on the plane is complicated enough we generally check all of our luggage so we don’t have to worry about it. That leaves us with the personal bag that we choose to take on board. I like to carry a messenger bag because it gives me plenty of space and I can put the strap around me so I don’t have to worry about it sliding off my neck.
I found this bag at Mod Cloth. I love the pattern and the number of pockets. It has two on the front, where I can put my cell phone so I can get to it easily, and a large on on the inside. The strap is adjustable and it feels nice in my lap. I’ve used LeSport Sac Deluxe Everyday Bag in the past and I really like it too.
Most of the items in my bag are my gadgets. I have my cell phone to entertain me and make sure family knows when when we’ve landed. I also like to carry my camera with me. Two items I’ve found very helpful on trips are my small Grid-It Organizerand my Trent chargers. The organizer keeps all of my cords in one spot and it’s also where I store my ear buds. We have two Trent chargers, the New Trent iCarrier IMP120D and the NewTrent Travelpak Dual USB Port , so we can keep all of our gadgets going.
I have my Kindle loaded up with books and magazines. I also like to carry at least one “real” book with me. This trip its The Imagineering Field Guide to Disneyland.
When we are flying I like to carry a travel wallet. I bought this one at REI a few years ago. It can hold our itinerary, tickets, my id, and any other cards I need to carry with us.
Next up is my notebook and pencil case. I always keep a notebook with me during Disney trips to keep track of what we do each day and to record inspirations for blog posts before I forget them. I’m taking it on the plane so I can write down any notes I want to remember during the flight. And I have to have a pencil case because I’m never happy with just one writing device. I need options. 🙂
Last are a few practical items. I like having antibacterial wipes to use on the arm rests and tray tables on the plane. I also have wipes that I can use on my hands. My hands always get dirty going through airports and theme parks and wipes are nicer to have than just gel. The two I like to use are Cleanwell To Go Wipes and Cleanwell All Natural Hand Sanitizing Pocket Pack Wipes. I also have another smaller bag to keep other small items in that I don’t want to loose in the bottom of my bag.
Make sure to check with your airline to see what they will allow you to carry on board your flight. You can also stop by the TSA website if you have any questions about what is allowed in your bags.
And special thanks to our cat Patch, she was very helpful when we were taking these photos. 🙂
