Mr. Kamal’s Falafel Sandwich

Mr. Kamal's - Disney's Animal Kingdom

I finally stopped my Mr. Kamal’s at Disney’s Animal Kingdom for lunch on our last trip. It had been on my to do list for a while but we always seem to either get a snack for lunch because we had a huge breakfast or we end up at Tamu Tamu Refreshments.

Mr. Kamal’s can be a little hard to find. It’s located on the pathway between Africa and Asia. The Bradley Falls kiosk is across from it as well as some restrooms. If you get to Flights of Wonder turn around. There isn’t a sign but you know you are in the right place when you see the menu.

Sometimes it’s hard to find vegetarian items at a Disney restaurant or you are stuck with just one choice. Everything at Mr. Kamal’s is vegetarian. So yes, I realize there are only three things on the menu but I can eat all of them!

I decided to try the Falafel Sandwich, which is served on a pita with lettuce, tomato, and a Tahini-Based Sauce. It comes with chips but you can get apple slices instead. The lettuce and tomato were really fresh and I liked the flavor of the sauce. The falafel itself was awesome! I’ve read some reviews that said it was mushy but mine was crisp and delicious. It was pretty large sandwich too. If you are wanting a smaller lunch or a snack you could easily split it with someone. It was also a little messy so make sure to grab some napkins.

One of the best parts of grabbing something to eat at is Mr. Kamal’s is the seating area near by. It’s a little hidden too but just look for the red chairs and then head down the small hill. I wish I could eat lunch in this spot every day!

Have you stopped by Mr. Kamal’s?

I don’t even know what Falafel is, but the sandwich looks really good!  You and Drew get the most beautiful pictures, I swear!

Wow this actually looks pretty good.   We haven’t tried it yet, looks like I need to give it a try on our next trip.   Love that spot with the red chairs, perfect!
