Magical Blogorail – My Favorite Part of New Fantasyland

Storybook Circus

Today we are discussing our favorite parts of New Fantasyland. While I love the entire expansion I would have to say my favorite part is Storybook Circus. I fell in love with the area the first time we visited in 2012. Here’s why:

Pete’s Silly Sideshow

Pete's Silly Sideshow

We love character meet and greets and Pete’s Silly Sideshow is one of our favorites. Everything themed so well and best of all, it’s air conditioned!

Pete's Silly Sideshow

You can meet Minnie Mouse as Minnie Magnifique, Daisy Duck as Madame Daisy Fortuna, Goofy as The Great Goofini, and Donald Duck as The Astounding Donaldo. Minnie and Daisy are on one side and Goofy and Donald are on the other. This way you can only meet one pair if you want or both. If the wait is long you can also split up your visit.

Dumbo the Flying Elephant

How can you not love Dumbo? It’s a classic. I have to admit I was a little nervous when I found out the were moving him to Storybook Circus but the redo of the attraction is beautiful. And if you have young kids the indoor play area is a lot of fun. It’s also a great place to enjoy some air conditioning and free wi-fi.

The attraction is especially beautiful at night. It’s also a great attraction for wheelchair users that can transfer. You can read my accessible attraction post here.

Big Top Souviners and Treats

Big Top Souvenirs

I love shopping at Disney and Big Top Souvenirs is now one of my favorite gift shops. They have a lot of Dumbo and other circus themed items. Plus you can find a lot of merchandise from other parts of the parks. You can also find some great snacks like Caramel Popcorn, Goofy’s Glaciers, themed cupcakes, and caramel apples.

Big Top Treats

The Cast Members here have always been awesome too. On one visit we got to make our own chocolate covered marshmallows. It was definitely a magical moment!

It’s a Great Place to Relax

Storybook Circus

There are lots of tables located near Big Top Souvenirs. They are all located outside but there are some nice, shady areas. Some of our favorites are located in the tent with the FASTPASS machines for Dumbo and the Barnstormer. In the evenings there aren’t many people around and the lighting is beautiful. It’s a great place to enjoy your snack from Big Top Treats.

I can’t wait to experience all of this area! We only saw the new Dumbo and the Casey Jr splash area. Barnstormer was still being refurbished. I so look forward to the characters!!! 🙂

What a great post! I too love Storybook Circus! I think it was the biggest surprise for me. Big Top Souvenirs and Treats has the most unique souvenirs and treats. You two look so cute in your hats with your marshmallow creations!!

Great post! I love looking at the pictures – next time I’ll have to stop for pics – they look like so much fun in those costumes!

We did the character greetings first thing one morning. It was so quick and easy, and the photos have such a fun theme.

What a fabulous post! When we saw it, it was raining and everything was closed down. I was just glad to SEE it. Now, I can’t wait to actually EXPERIENCE it. 🙂
