Jolly Holiday Bakery Café Review

Jolly Holiday Bakery at Disneyland

I knew before we left on our first trip to Disneyland that I was going to love the Jolly Holiday Bakery Café. Mary Poppins is one of my favorite films and any space dedicated to that part of my childhood is going to be a favorite. Luckily I wasn’t disappointed.

Inside Jolly Holiday Bakery

Like I mentioned previously, the bakery has a Mary Poppins theme. One of my favorite details that you notice as you approach are the penguin stained glass windows. I really need these in my home! The seating is also outside so you can enjoy your food and have a view of Main Street, the Matterhorn, and Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The inside of the bakery is practically perfect in every way. The colors are warm and inviting. And the details are subtle but easy for even the casual Mary Poppins fan to pick out. Some of my favorites are found in the display cases next to the queues.

Most of our visits were in the morning so we didn’t try out any of the salads or sandwiches. It was also kind of hot to be eating soup but that just means we still have something new to try on our next visit. On our first morning Drew tried out the Signature Cinnamon Roll. I tried a couple of bites and it was delicious! It was warm, soft, and had plenty of icing. And I have to say I prefer it over the cinnamon rolls we’ve tried at Walt Disney World.

We both tried the Practically Perfect Punch and fell in love with the drink. It’s a pomegranate limeade that is the perfect mixture of sweet and sour. It was hot and humid during our visit and it was the perfect drink to grab and cool off in the shade.

I had the Lemon Raspberry Muffin, because I’m a sucker for anything lemon flavored, and loved it. It wasn’t too big so it was perfect for a light breakfast. The inside was moist and the lemon flavor wasn’t overwhelming. It was perfectly tart.

The next time we stopped by Drew decided dessert for breakfast was the way to go. We were on vacation after all. He tried their Chocolate Chip Cookie which was good but not a stand out.

The Matterhorn Macaroon was another story. Seriously, if you love coconut this is a must have. It’s a mountain of coconut that resembles the attraction it shares a name with. Combine that with the white chocolate snow on top and you’ve got a winner.

Overall we LOVED the Jolly Holiday Bakery Café. It’s everything you want a Disney bakery to be. Beautiful theme, an awesome signature drink, and unique offerings. Or as Mary would say, it was Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. 🙂

I absolutely Loved! The Jolly Holiday Cafe. That was my favorite place at Disneyland to eat. I didn’t have any of the sweet treats. I just took pictures. I was thinking of writing about the ambiance and the lunches. You have great pictures. Mine didn’t turn out as well. I may ask to borrow a few of yours. Great review and those treats look and sound good!

Oh my gosh – I’m not sure how I missed this post the first time around, so I’m glad you linked it up for Riding the Rails this week.  That bakery looks AMAZING!  The cinnamon roll DOES look better than its Magic Kingdom counterpart and that muffin looks incredible.  Yummy!  I NEED to go to Disneyland!

So beautiful! I love the sugar dish (for a spoonful of sugar, of course) and the penguin stained glass are beautiful.
