We haven’t attended the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival since 2010. It’s changed a lot over the last few years so I was really excited to finally attend again this year. I was especially interested in trying out a few of the Outdoor Kitchens. We ended up spending quite a bit of time in the United Kingdom Pavilion. It’s one of my favorites during the festival for several reasons.
The Buttercup Cottage
The Buttercup Cottage ended up being my favorite booth at the Flower & Garden Festival. I mean just look at how cute it is! Plus it makes the entire pavilion smell like lemon scones. And they were as good as the smelled.
They are served with with berry preserves and crème fraÎche and my only regret is that I didn’t eat more of them. We also tried the Berry Tea Cocktail, Twinings Cold Brewed Mixed Berry Tea with Florida Cane vodka and Plant City strawberry, flavored with raspberry and açaí syrup. Yum! I was hoping it wasn’t too sweet and it wasn’t. Perfect mix of sweetness with the tea and it’s the drink for you if you don’t want to taste your alcohol.
Drew tried the freshly baked potato and cheddar cheese biscuit with smoked salmon tartar and really enjoyed it. I can tell you the biscuit was great. I tried a part that hadn’t gotten near the salmon. 🙂 He loved the flavors and it ended up being one of his favorites.
One of my favorites from the festival was the field greens salad with Plant City strawberries, toasted almonds, and Farmstead stilton. The Cast Members gave us a huge portion and I was not complaining. All of the components of the salad were so fresh and worked really well together. I’m going to try to recreate this one at home. We also tried out the Twinings Cold Brewed English Classic with lemon grass syrup on our second visit. It’s the perfect drink for a warm Spring day in Epcot.
I also love the UK Pavilion because they have so many beautiful topiaries! When you enter from the International Gateway you will see Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet, and Rabbit to your right as you enter the pavilion. These are some of my favorites. I love Pooh holding the balloon.
You can also find Peter Pan on the rooftop with Captain Hook and Tick-Tock Croc below.
English Tea Garden
Another wonderful part of the Flower & Garden Festival is the English Tea Garden. You can “discover the history and art of tea blending as you experience this elegant English Tea Garden featuring some of Twinings finest tea blends.” You can sign up for a 20 minute guided tour of the garden at the Tea Caddy. Tours take place Monday – Thursday at 3:45 pm & 6:15 pm and Friday – Sunday at 1:00 pm, 3:45 pm, and 6:15 pm. You can also take a self guided tour at any time.
