Disney’s Hollywood Studios is still my favorite park. Really. I’m not just saying that because it’s the park’s 25th anniversary. I know it has it’s issues but I fell in love with it on my first visit in the early 90s and I haven’t looked back. It is the first place I took Drew when we were dating and took our first trip together. It’s the place I like to visit last on our trips and if you ask me where I want to go hang out on our vacations more often than not I’m going to choose Hollywood Studios.
So why do I still love this park so much? First, it has absolutely nothing to do with the attractions. Sometimes we visit with out riding a single one. For me it’s all about the atmosphere and the little traditions we’ve made through the years. So here are a few of the little things that I love about Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The Cheese Danish at the Writer’s Stop
I rope drop DHS for this baby. It’s my favorite cheese danish on property and I have to eat at least one on every trip.
The Muppet Fountain
Becoming pals with Estelle from This Happy Place Blog (you HAVE to visit her for Muppet Monday) has made me appreciate all things Muppet a little more. You can’t visit the Studios and not check out this cool fountain. We usually stop by early in the day so we can get photos minus other guests.
Mulch, Sweat, & Shears
Take the time and check out one of their shows. Grab a pretzel from the Pretzel Garden and hang catch them on the Streets of America in the afternoon. They also perform in front of the Sorcerer’s Hat later in the day. They are so much fun!
It’s a Wonderful Shop
It’s Christmas all year long at this little shop. It’s tucked away near the Studio 1 Company Store and Mama Melrose’s, you can find Christmas ornaments and other holiday items. And since Christmas is my favorite holiday I love visiting It’s a Wonderful Shop any time. Plus I adore the windows
The Cowboy Scene on the Great Movie Ride
For a long stretch we never stopped during the Cowboy scene on The Great Movie Ride. Our tram always seemed to be taken over by gangsters. But we’ve been highjacked by cowboys a few times recently and have gotten to enjoy the lovely pyro in the scene.
The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights
I know this isn’t really a “little” thing but I can’t do a post about what I love at Disney’s Hollywood Studios with out mentioning The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. They are just so cool! They are one of my favorite things about the Holidays at Disney and I still tear up every time I see them.
So what are some of your favorite things at Disney’s Hollywood Studios?
