Happy Christmas in July Eve! That’s a thing right? Well Estelle and I are going to make it one then. We’re teaming up again for a little holiday fun in the summertime. It’s the time of year when I really do start thinking about the holidays (it’s the most wonderful time of the year!) and this year I have a really good reason for it. Not that I need one. 🙂
While I have visited Walt Disney World several times with my husband over the years, I haven’t visited with my parents and sister since 1997. That was the year I graduated from high school and asked my parents for the trip as a graduation present. My sister and I did meet up in the parks a few years ago. She was in Orlando at a conference with her husband and they had gotten one day park hopper tickets. We went crazy and visited all four parks. It was a fun day but time seemed to fly and one day just isn’t enough.
Fast forward a few years and now my sister has two daughters. The oldest turns 4 this year and the youngest will be 1. Perfect time for a Disney trip right? This will be their first visit and the first time my family has visited during the holidays. It’s my favorite time of year in the parks and I can’t even begin to explain to you how excited I am. The magic of a first visit + the holidays is probably going to make me an emotional mess! It was hard to narrow down but here are the top 3 things I am looking forward to sharing with my family.
Cinderella’s Holiday Wish takes place each night in front of Cinderella’s Castle. A lot of people seem to think it is associated with Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party but you don’t have buy a party ticket to see this show. It’s a great way to see the lights glitter on Cinderella Castle for the very first time.
Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald all have ideas on how the Castle should be decorated. The Fairy Godmother appears and suggests that Cinderella should decide, she does live there after all.
Cinderella and Prince Charming show up and she asks for the Castle to sparkle like her glass slippers. Best idea ever!
With a wave of her wand, and with a little help from you, the Fairy Godmother makes Cinderella’s wish come true. My oldest niece LOVES Cinderella so I have a feeling that she is going to love seeing this.
I love these lights. I feel like a little kid every time I see them. I also love that when I told my sister about them she really didn’t know what I was talking about. That means they can experience the awesomeness of the Osborne Lights and I get to watch their faces as they see said awesomeness. I call that a win-win.
I love hanging out in Epcot anytime but I especially love the atmosphere during the holidays. As you tour the World Showcase you can see decorations that represent each countries celebrations and listen to storytellers. Our favorite is La Befana in the Italy Pavilion.
I think my niece is going to love seeing all of the decorations. I think Duffy might end up being her favorite but I hope she enjoys the storytellers, the music, and the gingerbread cookies!
