Disney’s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf

Winter Summerland Miniature Golf

After our 24 hours in the Magic Kingdom on Leap Day, we decided to spend a day outside of the parks. Part of our day was spent at the Winter Summerland Golf course located next to Blizzard Beach water park.

Like everything in Disney they is a story behind the course. One Christmas Eve, Santa was flying over Orlando when he noticed snow in a place that is usually so hot, the Blizzard Beach Water Park. After checking out this strange occurrence he decided to build a vacation destination for his off duty elves, a Winter Summerland.

I loved the themeing. There are two courses, Summer, the sand course, which is more beach themed but still has some Christmas elements, and Winter, the snow course, which is more traditional Christmas theme. We went with the Winter course because I wanted to listen to the Christmas music while we played.

Each hole has a different theme. There is also a little rhyme to go with it. It explains the goal of each hole and a clue in cases where something special will happen if you hit the ball through a certain area. For example hole 4 was Putt Out the Campfire: Did we douse the fire? No one remembers, Please help putt it out, Just aim for the embers. When you shot it through the fire a little puff of smoke came out.

We had a great time. The course was wheelchair friendly. The pathways were pretty easy to navigate and there was a place to access the hole on the back in case you are like me and can’t manage a hole in one each time.

The cost is $12.00 per adult and $10.00 for kids ages 3-9 per 18 hole round. If you are an Annual Passholder you get 50% off those prices. I think its a great way to spend time outside of the parks. It wasn’t very crowded and ended up being very relaxing. I would definitely do it again sometime.
