Welcome to this month’s Blogorail Orange Loop. Today we are reviewing Walt Disney World deluxe resorts.
Disney’s Boardwalk Inn is one of our favorite resorts at Walt Disney World. There is just so much to love about the place! We have stayed there four times and each one has been special, relaxing, and fun. Here are a few reasons why we think the Boardwalk Inn is a great choice for your Disney vacation.
Location and Transportation
We love the location of the Boardwalk Inn because it’s close to both Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We also like that there are more ways to get to a few of the parks other than a bus. The Friendship Boats go to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. It’s a nice relaxing ride and the boats are wheelchair accessible.
You can also walk to both parks. It’s a short walk to Epcot and the International Gateway. You can also walk to Hollywood Studios. It’s a longer walk but it can be faster than the Friendship boats.
Disney describes the Boardwalk Inn as having “the charm and whimsy of turn-of-the-century Atlantic City at this waterfront Resort hotel. Make a splash at Luna Park Pool and delight in a massage at the state-of-the-art fitness center. Discover carnival games, unique dining and exciting nightlife on the Coney Island-style boardwalk.”
Having never been to Atlantic City, I will have to take their word for it. But I absolutely love the atmosphere of the resort and the Boardwalk. At times you can forget that you are in the middle of a theme park in Florida.
Stopping by the Boardwalk Bakery on your trip starts feeling like you are visiting your local bakery. It’s the quick service location for the resort so you can stop by for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, grab a dessert or snack, fill up your mug from the Dining Plan, or grab an espresso.
We tend to visit multiple times when we stay here. Breakfast is my favorite meal at the bakery. There are so many yummy pastries to choose from but our favorite is the cinnamon roll.
You can get a bread bowl with scrambled eggs, potatoes, and bacon, biscuits and gravy, or a breakfast sandwich.
And make sure to stop by for dessert. The chocolate peanut butter bar cake is delicious. So is the key lime tart, cannoli, cupcakes, and pretty much everything else you see in the pastry case.
The Bell Vue Lounge is also one of our favorite lounges on property. In the mornings you can stop by for a continental breakfast but we prefer to stop by and relax in the evenings. It is themed a 1930’s sitting room with lots of comfy chairs and tables. There are even board games you can grab to play.
I love that they play radio programs from the 30’s. Our last trip was during the holidays so the programs had a Christmas theme. We had so much fun sitting there with our Moscow mules enjoying the show and the ambiance. There is also a verandah if you want to head outside to see what’s happening out on the Boardwalk.
I love the Boardwalk Inn the most during the holidays. The decorations are beautiful and the holiday spirit just adds another layer of awesome to your stay.
There is a gingerbread display in the lobby that is cute and smells amazing. It’s also a shop that sells gingerbread cookies and houses.
