We’ve made it to the end of our Disney Christmas in July celebration. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading these posts as much as I have enjoyed writing them. A huge thank you to Estelle at This Happy Place Blog for being my co-elf on this holiday adventure.
When Disney announced their Christmas in July Limited Time Magic events I was a little underwhelmed. Christmastime is my favorite time of year at the parks so I admit I was expecting something amazing. I know it takes a lot of time and hard work to get all of those beautiful decorations up but I felt they could have done a little more than cupcakes and ornaments. I love Buddy the Elf so I started thinking what would he do if he was in charge of this week’s Limited Time Magic. In other words, what would Buddy do?
Christmas Trees in Town Square
Buddy loves Christmas trees so why not add a few to Town Square. We’ve always visited before they put the huge tree in the Magic Kingdom but I love the smaller ones they have out before the Christmas parade taping. You don’t even have to put them in front of the Castle just in case a few guests don’t want them in those beloved shots. But they would add some Christmas spirit to the celebration.
Disney Characters in their Holiday Finest
Buddy always looks dapper in his elf gear so why not have some Characters in their Holiday costumes. You could have a few characters out in Town Square near the Christmas trees. It could be like Long Lost Friends Week with some Christmas flare.
A Few Christmas Floats in the Afternoon Parade
I know it’s not feasible to run the entire Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade but it would have been cool to see a few of the floats. They added a pre-parade celebration to a few Limited Time Magic events this year. It would have been fun to see a few Toy Soldiers, Goofy on his Candy Co. float, or just the gazebo decked out with Christmas trees and a few characters. Add a little holiday music and Buddy and I would be in heaven.

Snow on Main Street U.S.A
One of the most magical things about the Holidays at Disney is the snow on Main Street. It may not be real but it is so much fun to sit there and watch it fall with a Disney treat in hand. Add a little Christmas background music and you can pretend it’s December (plus Buddy loves a good snowball fight :))
I would love to hear your ideas in the comments! You can also check out my other tribute to Buddy the Elf. I’m going to listen to some Disney Christmas music and hope my husband doesn’t have a Christmas intervention for me.
