Welcome to this month’s Blogorail Green Loop. Today we are discussing some of the best bars and lounges at the Disney Parks.
We stayed at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort for the first time last year. We arrived before check in so our room wasn’t quite ready yet. The Cast Member checking us in asked if we had plans for lunch and since we didn’t really we asked what she recommended. She suggested that we stop by the Crew’s Cup Lounge. I’m so glad we did. It’s turned into one of our favorite spots on Disney property.
The Crew’s Cup Lounge is located next to the Yachtsman Steakhouse. We still haven’t visited the restaurant (we’re not really steak eaters) but the lounge would make a great spot for pre or post dinner drinks.
One thing I really like about Crew’s Cup is that while there is bar seating most of the options are low top tables which all wheelchair users appreciate. There are also booths and comfy looking chairs. It gives the bar an intimate feel. During the Yachtsman Steakhouse dinner hours there is also a table with a view of the butcher. Not really my thing so it’s something to keep in mind if it’s not yours either. 🙂
Crew’s Cup is open for lunch and dinner with slightly different menus for each. We usually just order off of the appetizer menu because the portions are big enough for a meal if you don’t want to share.
Drew really likes the Lump Crab Cake with Fire-roasted Corn Succotash and Lemon Emulsion. He’s also tried the Buffalo Chicken Wings with celery, carrot shavings, and Blue Cheese dressing. He liked them but they weren’t really anything special. The crab cake on the other hand has always been a home run.
My favorite is the Buttermilk-fried Rock Shrimp. It comes with two sauces, Chipotle Rémoulade, which is a little spicy, and a Citrus Cream which I love. It also comes with a Chilled Cucumber Salad.
We also get the House-cut Truffle Fries with with Roasted Shallot Mayonnaise. I’ve tried the truffle fries at a couple of other places at Walt Disney World but they are never as good as the ones we get at Crew’s Cup.
As far as drinks go you’ll mostly find what is on Disney’s standard drink menu. But Crew’s Cup does have a few daily specials that include cocktails and beers. I tried out the Crew’s Cup Cosmo on one visit and really liked it.
