Cool Treats at Disney

Cool Treats at Disney

It’s almost officially summer! And if you are planning on visiting Walt Disney World in the next few months you are going to be dealing with crowds, heat, and humidity. One of the best, and most fun, ways to keep your cool is to grab one of the many cool treat options in the parks. Here are a few of our favorites.

Doughnut Sundae

Summer days in Florida start getting hot early. So why not have have ice cream for breakfast! You are on vacation after all. The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street is now serving breakfast. Andrew tried out the Donut Sundae, which is a glazed doughnut on top of cinnamon-apple topping, with one scoop of your favorite ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, hot fudge, milk chocolate Mickey ears, and a cherry.

Night Blossom

Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, head to Pandora – The World of Avatar to visit Pongu Pongu. The Night Blossom is a non-alcoholic mixture of limeade with apple and desert pear flavors topped with passion fruit boba balls. It takes like sour skittles. Yum!

Frozen Lemonade

You can find frozen lemonade at different places in all of the parks. Our favorite is the Cheshire Cafe at the Magic Kingdom because I am a huge Alice in Wonderland fan. You can grab a lemonade slush or a raspberry lemonade slush.

LeFou’s Brew

In New Fantasyland stop by Gaston’s Tavern for a LeFou’s Brew. It’s frozen apple juice with a hint of toasted marshmallow and topped with all-natural passion fruit-mango foam. If you are not a foam fan just ask them to leave it off.

Dole Whip

And last, but certainly not least, the Dole Whip! I have to have grab one at least once every trip. And now there are multiple places, and ways, to enjoy them. You can stop by Aloha Isle in the Magic Kingdom and Pineapple Lanai at Disney’s Polynesian Resort for Dole Whips and Dole Whip Floats. Tamu Tamu Refreshments in Disney’s Animal Kingdom has Dole Whips and adult versions with either dark or coconut rum. And at Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace at the Polynesian Resort grab a Spikey Pineapple. It’s not a traditional Dole Whip but it’s Barbancourt Pango Rhum blended with Pineapple Soft-serve. Still delicious!
