It’s December and that means it is time for Estelle from This Happy Place Blog and I to share our annual Buddy the Elf post! I am so glad I have a friend who loves elf culture, Christmas, and Disney as much as I do. I decided to write about what Buddy would love about the Holidays Around the World at Epcot. After visiting Walt Disney World a few times during the Holidays I’ve decided it’s my favorite part of the celebration.
The Holiday Passport works like the passport you can pick up for the Food & Wine and Flower & Garden Festivals at Epcot. Last year it listed the entertainment, merchandise, food, beverage, and holiday photo ops in each pavilion. After you explore all of the holiday offerings you visit the stamp location listed to get a unique stamp in your passport from each pavilion. If you visit all of them you receive a stamp of completion. I imagine that Buddy would have a great time running around, singing (because that’s the best way to spread Christmas cheer), and collecting all of them.
We didn’t complete ours last year but I a determined to get every stamp when we visit this month.
Buddy likes to stick to the four main food groups candy, candy canes, candy corn, and syrup. Most of the pavilions have sugary holiday treats available but there are a few other things that I think Buddy might try. The Germany Pavilion and the Christkindlmarkt have stollen fruit cake, glühwein (hot spiced wine), and caramel treats. The American Adventure has adorable (and delicious) gingerbread cookies.
The bûche de noël au chocolate at Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie was amazing last year. I can’t wait to try it again!
An unexpected favorite last year were the Kaikouxiao (Happy Face Fried Cakes) in the China Pavilion. These sesame cookies were not very sweet but they were so yummy!
For some grown up syrup (you know, the kind that goes in coffee) stop by the UK pavilion for the Hot Apple Jack Cider. It’s hot mulled cider with whiskey and seasonal spices and is perfect for cool evenings in the World Showcase.
I love the storytellers in each country of the World Showcase. We base our touring plan on the times we can catch each one. I have a feeling that Buddy would be a big fan of Father Christmas in the United Kingdom and Père Noël in France.
I also think Buddy would be a big fan of this guy.
And of course Buddy would love all of the Christmas trees in Epcot. There are beautiful decorations in each pavilion but of course the Christmas trees are my favorite. I wish I could bring some of them home with me!
The best part about Holidays Around the World at Epcot? You get to treat every day like Christmas! Make sure to stop by This Happy Place Blog to see what else Buddy is up to. And if you want even more Buddy check out some of my previous posts where he checked out some of the Christmas trees at WDW, came up with his own Limited Time Magic, and how he would spend his time in Walt Disney World.
