Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is one of the resorts that we have visited many times but had not actually had the opportunity to stay at. Luckily that changed this year. I always had a feeling we would love it and I was happy to find out that was true.
We stayed in a wheelchair accessible room with a roll-in shower and courtyard view. I loved the layout of the room. The entrance was nice and wide. It had what I think was vinyl flooring that looked like hardwood. It was very easy to roll on an there was a coat rack on the wall that was easy for me to reach. This is also where the closet was located which had a lowered shelf and clothes rack.
There was enough room around the bed that I could have used either side and two night stands. One of the touches I really liked were the light switches on the headboard that controlled the lights above the bed. The cabinet next to the nightstand is where the refrigerator was unfortunately the top is where the coffee maker was which put it out of reach.
The room also had a television stand with drawers that were easy to get to, a desk/table with two chairs, and another chair that Drew loved relaxing in every evening. The balcony didn’t have a barrier but since this was our first time staying here I didn’t realize the top floor had a solid wall on the balcony. We didn’t really use it since it was January and pretty cold but if that is important to you stay on a lower floor.
The bathroom was really nice too. The pocket door was easy to use, the sink was at a nice height, and I could use the mirror! 🙂 The roll-in shower was nice. It had a hand held shower head as well as a regular one. Everything was very easy to reach and I loved the tiles. I think this is my favorite shower on property.
Edit: I somehow forgot that our shower at Bay Lake Tower was similar. Loved it too but not as fun without the tiles. 🙂
Overall we LOVED the room. The amount of space we had was so nice, all of the accessible features of the room were great, and it is such a beautiful resort. We will definitely be staying at Wilderness Lodge again.
