Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is another great accessible attraction at Magic Kingdom Park. Here is a break down of what wheelchair users should expect and a few tips.
You enter the attraction through the standard queue or if you you have scheduled a time on My Disney Experience through the FastPass+ queue. The standard queue is longer so if you have trouble winding your way through a whole lot of switchbacks I recommend scheduling a FastPass+, especially if you have already used your three available ones and are able to schedule more.
When you get to the loading area a Cast Member will let you and your party pass through a hallway that takes you to the exit of the attraction. Let them know that you would like to stay in your wheelchair and use the wheelchair accessible attraction vehicle.
Once the wheelchair access vehicle arrives, Cast Members will either stop or slow the attraction down and lower the ramp. There is room for one person to ride with you and they will enter the ride vehicle first. If you need help up the ramp let the Cast Member know and they can assist you. The ramp is a little steep at first so I usually ask for a little help. Once inside they will put the ramp up and you are on your way.
There are a few things to keep in mind. There is only once accessible ride vehicle so your wait can vary depending on where the vehicle is and how many people are ahead of you. Also, unlike other attractions they are no restraints inside the ride vehicle. Make sure to lock your brakes. Also, if you have a backpack on you wheelchair I would take it off for the ride. There are a few hills and even though they aren’t very steep I’ve tipped back a little.
