Picking a favorite Disney Resort is tough. We’ve stayed at several and I love each one for a different reason. And while Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is still very high on my list I think I’ve found a new love. So here is a love letter to Disney’s BoardWalk Inn.
We stayed at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas a couple of years ago and really liked it. We’ve also visited the BoardWalk several times. I’ve always loved the area but something just seemed to click during this stay. It started at check in. The Cast Members, starting with security and valet, we’re so nice and helpful. We also had a great conversation with the Cast Member who check us in.
It was also a beautiful morning and the lobby looked gorgeous. Even the scary chairs next to the fireplace. 🙂
After we checked in we headed down to the Boardwalk Bakery for breakfast. It’s always been a favorite spot (especially since the refurb) and enjoyed sitting by Crescent Lake. There were two theme parks within walking distance of us and I didn’t want to leave!
Later that afternoon we headed to our room for the first time. It was love at first site. The decor at the BoardWalk Inn really isn’t my style but I loved everything about it. It was on the first floor on the corner so it was also huge!
And just when I thought I couldn’t love the place any more we discovered the beautiful garden area and Garden Cottage Suites. Have you ever watched Notting Hill? Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant’s characters sneak into a garden that is meant just for the residents around it. That’s what this garden felt like. And we certainly didn’t feel like we were in the middle of a theme park.
Each cottage had its own gate and little garden area too. The entire area just invites you to sit and enjoy it. The morning we took to explore it we saw several guests just sitting on their patios taking it all in. It’s definitely a place that makes you stop and smell the roses.
I know I’m gushing but seriously folks, this was a magical visit. Everything about our stay was lovely and I can’t wait to stay here again. And while I know I’ll find other places that I love at Walt Disney World I think my heard will always belong to the BoardWalk.
